Fraunhofer ENAS presented the lighthouse project »Go Beyond 4.0« as part of its trade fair appearance at SEMICON Europe 2019.
The institut presented, together with Fraunhofer IWU and Fraunhofer ILT, a jointly developed process for printing conductor paths on metal with integrated LEDs. They showed how the laser structuring of conductor paths on an aluminum disc (Fraunhofer ILT), printing of the insulating and conducting materials as well as assembling LEDs (Fraunhofer ENAS) and final metal forming (Fraunhofer IWU) results in a metal piece with integrated electronic devices.
